Tags to read!
Things are pretty loose around here, but I do like to harp on a few subjects in detail.
- Best of Hi-C: What I consider to be the best things I’ve written.
- Call-out Culture: I have kind of a different take on it.
- What it means to be an activist.
- Sexuality: Discussions about female sexuality, LBGT issues, sex-positivity, etc. Things get steamy! (Um, unless we’re talking about rape culture and misogyny. That isn’t steamy.)
- The Kyriarchy: Intersectionality, privilege hierarchies, shit like that. No, its not boring. You’re boring.
- Race: Thoughts on race, ethnicity, cultural differences. White people jokes.
- Academia
- Third World Issues
- Indian-American Issues
- My Philosophy: Random personal declarations, things that are important to me.
- Storytime with Hi-C: Shit that’s happened to me. No, you assholes, these aren’t all alcohol-related.
- Music I Like: Posts about music, as well as actual songs.
- Hi-C’s Dad: Uh, my father is kind of a riot. Click through, you’ll see why.
- I write a lot about my anxiety and depression. This blog is not a safe space, if you are easily triggered by discussion of these mental illnesses.
- Poutine is my favorite food!
Things of a more fannish nature:
Hi-C Analyses Literature!: Kind of sparse at the moment. Right now, it consists mostly of Jane Eyre. (Here’s the drunk Twilight liveblog I did, if you’re interested.)
Hi-C Watches Movies!: Also rather sparse.
Hi-C Analyses Television!: Not so sparse. Contains what I’ve written on television; the stuff I like the most. It consists of speculation, reviews, theories, character analyses, and some absolute batshit insane fangirling. I prune this tag regularly to keep it not-terrible.
Individual tags include: Supernatural, Doctor Who, Angel (the Series), Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Fringe, True Blood, and Battlestar Galactica. That’s what I’ll write about most often.
I highly recommend you get tumblr savior if you’re not interested in the above. I tag absolutely everything, to make it easy for you.
I’m one of those fans who believes criticizing the things you love is the highest form of respect. Supernatural is often sexist and racist, and Whedon doesn’t deal well with race either. Doesn’t mean I love these things any less, but be warned, I do talk about the greater social implications of what I watch and read. (I’m rather good at compartmentalization.)
Oh, and the fanfiction tag has some recs as well as lots of speculation on the medium.
Speculating about fandom crossovers is my guilty pleasure. Shut up, I know you like it too.
